Hear from our educators about working at Acton-Boxborough

Expanding our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion

Meet our students at Acton-Boxborough

Acton-Boxborough is a district that embraces change; we recognize that the students and families we serve today are vastly different from the students and families we served just one generation ago. We are committed to our values of Wellness, Equity and Engagement.  We know that serving all students at AB must include particular attention to those who have been historically underrepresented and underserved.

Our school district is deeply committed to advancing a broader definition of success, one that holds us accountable to goals we place at the center of our work. Specifically: the success of each and every student, their well-being, and their development as unique individuals. We are committed to growing as a District in our practice of anti-racist values.

The towns of Acton and Boxborough are suburban communities approximately 20 miles west of Boston along the Rt. 2 corridor, and located between Rts. 495 and 128.  We serve 5300 students and have over 1000 employees.  We have an integrated pre-school, 6 elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school.  Our students reflect an ongoing demographic shift by race and socio-economic status.  The residents of our community include a significant population of families who have more recent international origins.

Our District is committed to increasing the diversity of our certified educators and leaders.  We believe that by building a more representative workforce, our students will have better outcomes and be more prepared for an increasingly diverse world.  We encourage the following to apply: candidates of color, individuals with diverse life experiences and non-traditional backgrounds, and allies in our diversity, equity, and inclusion work.
