On Wednesday, October 30, 2019, the Acton-Boxborough Regional School District received formal authorization from the Massachusetts School Building Authority to proceed with the proposed Douglas-Gates building project.

Mosquito spraying will begin on school district and selected town fields in Acton and Boxborough this Thursday at 7:30 p.m. All groups using fields should plan to end activities by 7 p.m. and fields should be cleared by 7:15.

The SBC has been gathering feedback to better understand the concerns of the Acton and Boxborough communities about the building program and the potential site of a new twin school.

At their December 10, 2019 Town Meetings and in their December 17, 2019 town elections, voters in both Acton and Boxborough voted to approve the construction of a new twin school in the District.

At Special Town Meetings on Dec. 4, 2017, residents of both Acton and Boxborough voted to approve funding for a feasibility study for a new twin elementary school, in partnership with the MSBA.
